The power-operated soft top folds in 10 seconds, and it can be opened or closed while the car is traveling at up to 31 mph. Redesigned a year ago, the Boxster's lines are tighter and its handling quicker -- if that were possible. The base Boxster has a 2.7-liter engine that generates 265 hp. Its price starts at $50,400 but can rise steeply after that.
