反對（不及物動詞）

(intransitive verb) To express opposition; to disagree; to raise an objection that may delay a decision or future action.

EXAMPLE: The new company president had several new suggestions, but thecautious board of directors demurred until they had time to consider each of themcarefully.

公司新總裁有好幾條新建議，但是謹慎的公司董事會持反對態(tài)度，他們需要時間認真考慮。

Describing someone who is quietly confident, relaxed, and having one’s emotions under control.

EXAMPLE: Despite the pressures of his job, our company president is always cool, calm, and collected, which makes him a good leader.
