          個人魅力與有效溝通有很大區別。我相信在我們研究過的卓越CEO中,每個人都是有效的溝通者,盡管這些人中大部分不是那么具有個人魅力。

          Thomas D. Gorman: You're talking about the personalities and styles of several of the CEOs that you've mentioned, the great CEO's in your writings you pointed out, that many of the greatest CEO's have not been charismatic personality types.

          Jim Collins: Right. Some were.

          Thomas D. Gorman: Some were.

          Yep. What if anything does that tells us about the communications skill set of a CEO, how important that is; is it essential? And if a CEO is a good CEO can they become a great CEO without being a great communicator?

          Jim Collins: I thought a lot about your question on this.
          It's actually really a great question, because I think it depends on what you mean by communication. There's a big difference between charismatic personality and effective communication. And I believe that every one of our great CEO's that we studied, were enormously effective communicators. Most of them without charismatic personalities.
