1962 Ford Thunderbird ????The vinyl-covered roof was originally designed to give the appearance of a convertible to models with a fixed roof, but eventually it evolved into a styling statement in its own right. Ford tried it for the first time with the 1962 Thunderbird. The vinyl covering proved popular, and some form of vinyl trim, embellished with opera windows and landau bars, would be seen on Thunderbird roofs for the next two decades. |
