2012年最差交易大盤點

惠普收購Autonomy

????雖然惠普（Hewlett-Packard）2011年就簽訂了收購軟件公司Autonomy的合同，但直到2012年，大家才明白這是一筆多么糟糕的交易。去年11月末，惠普宣布它將對這筆價值110億美元的交易減記90億美元，其中有一半的減記是由于Autonomy涉嫌會計欺詐，而惠普宣稱在交易之前對Autonomy的會計欺詐并不知情。不過也有人表示，這一點顯而易見。很多分析師稱，這筆交易比美國在線（AOL）和時代華納（Time Warner）的并購還要糟糕，而后者一直被喻為有史以來最差的交易。我想代表我的雇主時代華納公司衷心地說一句：“謝謝，惠普。謝謝你。”

????While?Hewlett-Packard's?(HPQ,?Fortune 500)?deal to buy software company Autonomy was signed in 2011, it took until 2012 to reveal just how truly awful the deal was. In late November, HP announced that it was writing off $9 billion of the $11 billion it paid for the company. About half of that write-off was due to accounting irregularities at Autonomy that HP says it didn't know about before the deal. Others say they should have been obvious.

????A number of analysts have dubbed the deal worse than the AOL-Time Warner merger, which has long held the title as worst deal of all time. On behalf of my employer, Time Warner, I want to say, "Thank you, HP. Thank you."
